#5 RISE UP Consortium Meeting: Vienna, Austria / November 2025
From the 4th until the 6th of November, 2025, the RISE UP Consortium met up for its last in-person consortium meeting. The meeting took place in Vienna, Austria, and was hosted by MINDS & SPARKS and the University of Vienna.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the consortium to discuss the final tasks until the end of the project, and ensure a path towards long-term sustainability of RISE UP’s outcomes. Discussions centred around the RISE UP App, an app which will combine minority language learning with community features. Furthermore, partners discussed needs for further research, which will be presented to the European Commission, as well as guidelines for researchers working with minoritised communities. The consortium also worked on tasks that will ensure that all relevant target groups know about the project’s outcomes and are able to use and further build on them.
The highlight of the meeting was a visit to the Hrvatski Centar (Croatian Centre) in Vienna. There, we were able to learn more about plans for a bilingual (Croatian – German) school in Vienna, and discussed different aspects of multilingualism in education, before receiving a tour of the centre, including a bilingual kindergarten and a library.
Overall, the meeting was an important opportunity for RISE UP partners to come together and set the necessary steps for a successful closing of the project in January 2026. Thank you to all participants for such a productive meeting!
